Counselling
Social Work
Darlene Denis-Friske Registered Psychotherapist Kristine Dewar Registered Psycotherapist
The counselling program provides mental health counselling services as well as wellness education. We offer individual, couples and family counselling. Support and counselling groups are also offered and these are open for our patients as well as the general public. Our counsellors work with clients to provide a safe, comfortable, and confidential listening space. The voluntary decision to begin counselling is sometimes difficult and the process can involve significant "emotional work”, but it can result in a person being better able to understand how he or she feels about challenges in life, learn how to resolve issues and solve problems, and get along better with other people. The counsellor can also help to locate services in the community if additional support becomes important.
