COVID-19 Quick Info

If you live in Renfrew County, have a health concern (including a concern related to COVID-19) and need to speak to a physician, you should first call your family physician’s office.

If you do not have a family physician or cannot access your family physician, call the Renfrew County Virtual Triage and Assessment Centre at 1-844-727-6404. A medical receptionist will connect you with care and support from a nurse practitioner, family physician and/or community paramedic.

Dear Patients of WCFHT,

If you are experiencing a medical emergency, as always, please present to the emergency department nearest you.

If you are concerned that you have been exposed to or contracted the COVID-19 virus, please do NOT come into the office or present to the emergency department.  Isolate yourself from others as quickly as possible, and call Renfrew County and District Health Unit at (613) 735-8654, extension 577, or Telehealth Ontario at 1-866-797-0000 for further instructions.  Please note that these lines are experiencing an extremely high volume of calls.  While it may be difficult to remain patient, we ask that if you do call in and do not reach anyone, to leave one message, and wait for a call back.

You can also use the Government of Ontario's self-assessment tool:

https://covid-19.ontario.ca/self-assessment/#q0

In order to protect both our patients and staff, some non-urgent, routine appointments will be postponed.  If you are unsure as to whether or not your appointment is considered urgent, please do not call in to find out.  You will be contacted by our office if there are changes being made to your appointment.  We are assessing appointment urgency on a case-by-case basis. In the meantime, please visit the following link to find:  "what is considered urgent."

If you are calling to request a prescription renewal, instead please contact your pharmacy and ask that they fax a prescription renewal request to the office.  Your doctor will respond to the request within 2 weeks.

If you are calling regarding test results, please rest assured your physician is reviewing all results and you will be contacted by our office if follow-up is required.

If you are coming into the office to attend a scheduled appointment, we ask that you limit the number of people you bring with you, to only those that are absolutely necessary.  Please do not bring children, spouses, other family members or friends that do not have an appointment booked.

Please do not come into the office to inquire about the status of forms left for completion.  As always, we will call you when your forms are ready.

Lastly, we request that you do not walk into the office because you are unable to reach us by phone.  We understand that our phone lines will be busier than usual, and we ask you practice understanding as well, and remain patient when trying to reach us by phone.

                                         Thank you.
