What is True Productivity?

I recently saw a meme by Scott D. Clary that said:
"True productivity isn't about doing more. It's about doing less, but with more impact. Your goal isn't to fill your day, but to empty it of the unnecessary."
This reminds me of what I often tell clients about building time. When our day sits before us and we feel overwhelmed by all the tasks in front of us, or we feel underwhelmed with nothing planned, we are in a position of filling time. For the overwhelmed, the pace is one led by feeling frazzled and fretful, and for those who are unmotivated, time looms before them and it feels lonely and depressing. Finding a middle ground becomes the answer. When we build time we can schedule in what needs to get done, but we can also make room for our self-care pieces, for seeking daily joy, for spending quality time with our loved ones. It moves to pace not perfection, to feeling complete not incomplete, to present time not past or future. We lead with intention, and as a result our day feels more achieveable. :) Photo by Glenn Carstens-Peters on Unsplash
