A 3 Goal Day for Self-Care

I often speak about the importance of making self-care a part of our daily routine; to have non-negotiables that align with a centered place in ourselves so as to face the challenges of the day. Perhaps one way to look at it is to have a 3 goal day; to be able to choose something that works for you in one of these three categories:

  1. An activitiy that lines up with our emotional health: reading, listening to a podcast, writing in a gratitude journal, doing a puzzle, being creative.

  2. An activity that lines up with our physical health: going for a walk, doing some yoga, stretching at lunch, hitting the gym.

  3. An activity that lines up with our spiritual health: praying, meditating, sitting in nature, being still.

We often think that doing all three things in our day are unachieveable; that we don't have time. But they needn't take up a lot of time - when we place the intention, and consciously choose the activity, we can incorporate them into our day in ways that inevitably bring us the mental, physical, and spiritual energy that we need for optimal emotional growth.
