Why it Didn't Work Out

When something we so desperately wanted didn’t work out, we often struggle with the “Why me?” The job that we didn’t get, the relationship that ended, the house that got sold to someone else. We search for the answers in an existential space, we circle and circle recent past events, we wish it could be different, we sit in a space of not understanding.
Eventually we begin the emotion filled process of acceptance; we shed our tears, we share our feelings in therapy, we begin to understand where we are as we begin the journey of healing. We don’t always get our answers, but we eventually learn to live with what is unknown, we move to seeking peace, to feeling more settled, to accept.
And when the emotion filled spaces feel a bit more ordered, we recognize the opportunities that come with endings, for an ending is also always a beginning. It is a path that often leads us to a place to recognize that there was a reason it didn’t work out, that we learned an important lesson, that it allowed something better, healthier to come along.
“Sometimes we can only find our true direction, when we let the wind of change carry us.”
